Dr Ankur Phatarpekar is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist. He has completed his MD and then DM Cardiology from the prestigious Seth G. S. Medical College and King Edward Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. He has received top honours in university at various academic levels.
Being teaching faculty at his alma mater, King Edward Memorial hospital, he has had the experience of mentoring budding interventional cardiologists. He is currently a Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) recognized teacher of Cardiology.
Dr Ankur Phatarpekar has attended many national conferences as a faculty. He has to his credit published work in over two dozen national and international journals. He is a member of American College of cardiology(ACC) and the European Association of Percutaeous Coronary Interventions (EAPCI)
Dr. Phatarpekar has vast experience in diagnostic procedures like 2D echo cardiography, pediatric and fetal echocardiography and dobutamine stress echocardiography as also in the newer imaging modalities like strain echo and 3D echocardiography.
He is deft in interventional cardiac procedures like Coronary Angiography and Angioplasty, Cardiac Catheterization, Pacemaker insertion, Balloon Mitral valvotomy, Pediatric and adult structural Interventions.
He has special interest oncocardiology which deals with effects of chemotherapy agents and its cardiac side effects. His interview was published in a leading newspaper recognizing his expertise in this field.
